Review for the Chicken Henhouse (60344)

LEGO Box for the set 60344

It was in 2009 that LEGO released the Farm theme. Unfortunately, in recent years, there have been few sets that fit the theme. But this year LEGO decided to release not just one, but three sets that fit this theme with several new animals. For me, it was excellent, because I'm building a farm and several pieces and animals will come in really handy.

Starting with the set with 60344 set. It's a simple but beautiful set.

The chicken coops are nothing new, but this one, despite not being the most complete, has very interesting details, such as the trigger to collect the hens' eggs.

The colors chosen are very pleasant, bringing the real aspect of what a chicken coop looks like.

Seen from the front, the set is very well done, but when you turn it over, you can see how the LEGO designer tried to save pieces. The access to chickens is not easy. But the designer made this chicken coop in such a way that the roof is easily removed, which helps to get an easy access for the placement of the hens.

The chickens come out in a brand-new color available in this set (Dark Orange).

In addition to the chicken coop, this set has a well-built 4x4 motorcycle. It's simple but effective. The suspension system that LEGO uses works really well, despite being a basic system. Here a new color is used in the Vehicle part, Mudguard 2 x 4 with Headlights Overhang (Dark Azure).

Minifigures
The new figures all wear the same uniform, a lime-green jumpsuit with a logo of a sun and herbs on the torso. In this case, the minifigure has a double face. In addition to the helmet, the minifigure has the option of using a hair part.

This set costs $9.99 (€9.99 / £8.99)  which is a fair price for what it offers. The set has 101 pieces, of which the chicken with the new color stands out.

Personally, I would prefer the chicken coop to have more details and remove the bike. But I understand why LEGO made this option to make it more playable for children.

I'm curious to know if it's a line that will continue to grow or if it will fall again for several years until we have more animals and sets that fit this theme.
