To commemorate LEGO’s 90th anniversary, LEGO revealed the new LEGO Space 10497 Galaxy Explorer set at LEGO CON’22. 10497 Galaxy Explorer is a remarkable modern remake of the original cult starship LL928 497 Galaxy Explorer, released in 1979!

In terms of measurement, this set is quite impressive with a length of 52cm, a height of 13cm, and a width of 32cm, it also comes in 1246 pieces. In addition, 10497 replicates the feature of the original 497 set with the signature of two red and two white space astronaut minifigures.

Despite the similar features, it would seem that attention was paid only on the ship in the 10497 sets, unlike the early version, which had a moulded moon plate and a landing zone, and this marks one of the minor differences between the two models.
