LEGO Ideas Micro-scale Contest Announced as LEGO's First 90th Anniversary Mini-contest

Jun 30, 2022

LEGO is officially kick-starting its 90 Years of Play celebrational contest with the LEGO Ideas contest. Participants in this exciting new contest are to remake a micro-scale model of their favorite LEGO set of all time. Wouldn't it be a fun experience to work on a mini-sized version of your most beloved LEGO set ever? The best part is that the LEGO Ideas contest winner will receive a complete pack of the LEGO 90 Years of Play Sets! The sets include:

  • 11021 LEGO Classic 90 Years of Play
  • 10305 LEGO Icons Lion Knight's Castle
  • 10497 LEGO Icons Galaxy Explorer
  • 40567 LEGO Forest Hideout GWP
  • 30510 LEGO 90 Years of Cars

It should be noted that the LEGO Ideas contest will be open for only two weeks and will end on the 7th of July. So if you want to stand a chance to win these amazing LEGO sets, you better get building! The detailed terms and conditions can be found on the LEGO Ideas website.

Here is LEGO's official announcement:

"So August 10th is a pretty important date. As it's our 90th Anniversary! We're launching a handful of mini-contests to our birthday run-up to celebrate this. And this is the first! There will be one each week for 5 weeks. But you'd better be quick as they will only be open for 2 weeks. All of the judging will happen on August 4th, and all the winners will be contacted the same day.

We did mention in a recent blog that we would give you the chance to win some of the sets you helped make a reality thanks to our Fan Vote we ran in February last year. Well, this is it!

We all have a favorite LEGO set, right?! Like, your favorite LEGO set of ALL time? Could you build that in micro-scale to celebrate the 90th Anniversary of The LEGO Group?

Join in the first of a handful of contests celebrating… what was it again? Oh yeah, our 90th Birthday!

  • Please note that we are looking for creations not based on any third-party intellectual properties (IPs). So please don't build creations based on Star Wars for instance.

  • You also cannot submit an entry to this contest and then submit it to another contest we run as part of the 90th Anniversary Celebrations."
